Zanskar, a remote and picturesque region which offers some of the most adventurous and
challenging roads for motorcycle enthusiasts. The adventure roads of Zanskar offer a thrilling
and unforgettable experience for motorcycle enthusiasts, with stunning landscapes, challenging
terrain, and high-altitude mountain passes. The journey includes several high-altitude mountain
passes, including Shinku La, Baralacha La, Lachulung La, and Tanglang La. Riders will also pass
through several remote villages and see some of the most stunning Himalayan landscapes,
including the Suraj Tal lake and the rugged terrain of the Zanskar valley.

Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL AT MANALI
Arrive at Manali After a meet and greet in Manali Volvo bus stand check in to the hotel. Take
some rest and fresh up. The afternoon we will give you a brief description of an upcoming
journey and will handover you the bikes. Then we will ride for a sightseeing tour in Manali so
that you can get used to your bikes. Later come back to the hotel. Relaxed and overnight stay.


Day 2: MANALI - JISPA
Distance- 93 Kms
Duration- 3 Hrs
Highlights- Solang Valley, Atul Tunnel, Lahaul Valley

After breakfast, we will start the journey towards Jispa crossing Atal tunnel. Atal Tunnel is a
Newly built highway tunnel built under the Rohtang Pass. After crossing Tunnel, the landscape
changes drastically as we enter the Lahaul and Spiti District. The lush green grasslands
disappear and the barren slopes of the cold desert take over. We continue the ride towards
Jispa crossing the quaint mountain towns of Sissu and Keylong. Arrive at the destination early in
the evening and have an adventurous overnight stay in Camps / Hotel.

 

Day 3: JISPA - PURNE
Distance- 100 Kms
Duration- 5 Hrs
Highlights- Shinku La Pass

After breakfast, you begin your journey towards Zanskar on the recently completed road. It’s a
little difficult, but it has the best scenery. It takes time to cross Shinku la pass and take pictures
with the grand mountain Gumbo Ranjan (Mahakal) and cross the river, among other things. You
can enjoy a quick hike or track until Phuktal Gompa, which is only 6 kilometres away, with one
side hike to a hidden monastery. Overnight stay at Purne.


Day 4:PURNE - PADUM
Distance- 52 Kms
Duration- 2 Hours
Highlights- Lake, Market, Monastery

Discover the renowned sites of Padum on this excursion. Take in the stunning scenery of Sani
Lake and its monastery, which is hidden in the mountain. As you head towards Padum, there is a
beautiful monastery on the left side of the road. Padum is the most significant village and
market in Zanskar. Take some time to explore the bazaar, and you can spend the night in
Padum.

 

Day 5: PADUM, ZANSKAR VALLEY LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
Highlights: Phuktal Monastery, Local Market Visit

The town of Padum is named after Padmasambhava who was an 8th-century Buddhist master.
 It is the only town and administrative center in Zanskar. Padum is located at the center of the
tri-armed Zanskar valley, at an altitude of 3,657 meters (11,998 feet).  After breakfast, a local
sightseeing drive to Monasteries and the Market followed by leisure time


Day 6: PADUM - LAMAYURU
Distance- 205 Kms
Duration- 8 Hrs

Highlights: Shingo La Pass, Photoskar Village, Lingshed, Lamayuru Monastery
Today, we have a considerable distance to cover, and as a result, we will commence our journey early. Our route will take us through various points of interest, including the Strongday village to your right. Along the way, you will be treated to awe-inspiring landscapes, including the Shingo La pass, which stands at an altitude of 16,720 ft. It is highly recommended that you take advantage of photo opportunities along the way. The Zanskar roads present challenges to even the most skilled riders, so it is crucial to approach corners cautiously and stay within your abilities. Once we cross the Shingo La pass, we will arrive at the village of Photoskar. After traveling for some distance, our riders will join NH1. Overnight stay at Lamayuru.

 

Day 7: LAMAYURU - LEH
Distance- 115 Kms
Duration- 3 Hrs
Highlights- Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara
After experiencing extreme offroads, today will be a comfortable ride to leh. With Magnetic Hill on the way, take a moment to visit the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and offer a prayer. Finally, after a scenic journey, we will arrive at Leh, where we will spend the night.

 

Day 8: LEH - NUBRA VALLEY
Distance- 160 Kms
Duration- 5 Hrs
Highlights- Khardung La, Diskit Monastery, Nubra Valley

The Leh to Nubra Valley drive is a popular tourist route in Ladakh, India. The road trip is
approximately 150 kilometers long and takes around 4-5 hours to complete, depending on the
road conditions and traffic. The journey begins in Leh, the largest town in Ladakh, which is
located at an altitude of 3,500 meters. The road winds its way through the scenic Khardung La
pass, which is one of the highest motorable roads in the world at an altitude of 5,359 meters.
From Khardung La, the road descends into the picturesque Nubra Valley, which is known for its
sand dunes, double-humped Bactrian camels, and ancient monasteries. The valley is located at
an average altitude of 3,048 meters and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Along the
way, there are several small villages and towns where you can stop for refreshments or to take
in the local culture. Some of the notable attractions in the area include the Diskit Monastery,
which houses a 32-meter-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha, and the Hunder Sand Dunes, where
you can take a camel ride. Overall, the Leh to Nubra Valley drive is a scenic and adventurous
journey that offers a unique glimpse into the rugged beauty of the Himalayan region.


Day 9: NUBRA - PANGONG 
Distance- 278 Kms
Duration- 8 Hrs
Highlights- Pangong Lake

As the morning light starts to filter through, we prepare ourselves for an exciting journey from
Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake, which adds a stunning charm to Leh. En route, we will pass by
the picturesque Shyaok Village, and take in the breathtaking views of the glistening shores of
the highest saltwater lake. The tranquil blue hues of the lake will leave you spellbound,
and you'll have ample opportunities to capture some stunning photographs. As the day winds
down, we'll gather around a cosy bonfire to soak in some warmth and make unforgettable
memories. We would've arranged for an overnight stay amidst the serene beauty of nature to
ensure that you have a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.

 

Day 10: PANGONG - TSO MORIRI
Distance- 330 Kms
Duration- 10 Hrs
Highlights- Tso Morori Lake

The drive from Pangong to Tso Moriri is a scenic and picturesque journey through the rugged
terrain of the Himalayan region. This route will take you through some of the most stunning
landscapes and breathtaking views of the majestic mountains. You'll pass through remote villages
and experience the unique culture and traditions of the local people. Additionally, you'll witness the
pristine beauty of Pangong Lake and Tso Moriri Lake, both of which are renowned for their stunning
turquoise blue waters. Overall, the Pangong to Tso Moriri drive is an unforgettable experience that
will leave you mesmerized by the natural beauty of this region.


Day 11: TSO MORIRI - SARCHU
Distance- 228 Kms
Duration- 9 Hrs
Highlights- Morey Plains, Lachung La, Nakee La, Gata Loops

After indulging in a scrumptious breakfast, your tour continues towards Sarchu, where you will
journey through the borders of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, basking in the
breathtaking vistas of the majestic mountains and the vibrant hues of nature. Along the way,
you will also encounter the incredible Morey-Plains, a plateau situated at an astonishing
height of 15,500+ft, where a 45 km stretch of level road awaits you. Further ahead, you will
cross the twin passes of Lachung La (16,616 ft) and Nakee La (15,547 ft), before embarking on
the renowned Gata Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends. By evening, you will arrive at Sarchu,
marking the end of an exhilarating journey.

 

Day 12: SARCHU - MANALI
Distance- 230 Kms
Duration- 10 Hrs
Highlights- Baralacha Pass, Atul Tunnel, Solang Valley

For motorcycle enthusiasts visiting India’s Ladakh region, the road from Sarchu to Manali is a
popular and scenic route. The route is approximately 230 kilometres long and offers
breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains and valleys. The journey begins in
Sarchu, a high-altitude plateau at 14,500 feet, and continues through several remote villages
and breathtaking landscapes. The road is narrow and winding, with several steep hairpin bends
and unpaved sections, making for a difficult ride for motorcycle enthusiasts. The route passes
through several high-altitude passes, including the Baralacha La pass, which is 16,050 feet
above sea level. The passes offer breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped
mountains and valleys and are popular spots for photography enthusiasts. Relax and stay for
the night at Manali.


Day 13: DEPARTURE DAY
In the morning, wake up and have breakfast. Following that, return your bike and check out of
the hotel. You can either freely explore the city on your own or catch a bus back to Delhi.
