Itinerary

Day 1: Manali

Meet and greet in Manali, post which Introduction, Registration & briefing will be done by our crew. It is a day at leisure where you can explore the cafes of Old Manali or can relax at the hotel.

Day 2: Manali – Jispa (95 K/M 4 Hrs.)

After breakfast, we will start the journey towards Jispa crossing Atal tunnel. Atal Tunnel is a Newly built highway tunnel which connects Manali with Lahaul valley even in winters as we by-pass the mighty Rohtang Pass. After crossing Tunnel, the landscape changes drastically as we enter the Lahaul District. The greenwood of the famous pine trees disappear and the barren slopes of the cold desert takes over. We continue towards Jispa crossing the quaint mountain towns of Sissu and Keylong. Arrive at the destination early in the evening and have an adventurous overnight stay in Camps / Hotel.

Day 3: Jispa – Leh (230 K/M 7 Hrs.)

Highlights - Tanglang La, Riding along Indus River

We start off early, and 2 hours later, we pass through the Baralacha Pass. This pass connects Himachal Pradesh with Ladakh. Driving from Sarchu to Leh is like a roller coaster ride, with its many ascents and descents. We cross three passes, of which Nakee La is the third highest pass and Tanglang La being the highest pass on the Manali Leh highway. One can almost mistake the mountains for becoming the clouds. We arrive in Leh later that evening and enjoy a much-deserved repast.

Day 4: Leh

Highlights - Leh Market, Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, Leh Palace,

Replenish your energies with a healthy breakfast and enjoy a relaxing day in Leh. This is the day at leisure and can be spent visiting the scenic and famous places in and around the city. Stop by the Leh Palace and enjoy the splendid panoramic views of the Stok Kangri Mountain range from the terrace. You may also choose to visit the Shanti Stupa and the local market to indulge in some shopping and try out the Ladakhi cuisine at the local eateries. Spend the night at the hotel.

Day 6: Leh - Hunder/ Nubra Valley (140 K/M 5 Hrs.)

Highlights - Khardungla Pass, Diskit Monastery

After a relaxed day in Leh, we continue our expedition and start travelling towards Nubra Valley through what was considered the highest motorable road in the world i.e., Khardung La(5359m). The road towards the pass is well paved till the checkpoint near South Pullu and after crossing the checkpoint, the road starts to get slushy with loose gravels. Get yourself clicked after reaching Khardungla La and hit the road quickly as it is not safe to spend much time on top of the pass due to the high altitude and thin air. We stop for a quick lunch after descending down from the pass and then continue our journey. After travelling for couple of hours, we take a brief stop at Diskit Monastery to visit the 32m high Maitreya Buddha statue. Our arrival in the valley will be welcomed by the white sand dunes and the sightings of the double-hump Bactrian camels grazing in the beautiful Nubra Valley. Stay overnight at the hotel/campsite.

Day 7: Hunder - Turtuk - Hunder

Highlights - Turtuk Village on the Banks of Shyok River

Today, you’ll travel to Turtuk which is considered as the last Indian village on the LOC, it is a small village on the banks of the Shyok River with unparalleled natural beauty. The place is culturally, linguistically and historically different from what you’ve seen till now in your Ladakh holiday as it falls under the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Even the landscape is different with dramatic narrow valleys and steep mountains, unlike Central Ladakh and Nubra. Comparatively, situated at a lower altitude than Leh, you’ll see green pastures here that yield fresh produce like apricots and apples, Later drive back to Hunder and stay overnight at the hotel/campsite.

Day 7: Hunder- Pangong Tso (240 K/M 7 Hrs.)

Today we travel on the Shyok and Agham route which is the best scenic stretch of this trip. Nestled amongst the high peaks, at an altitude of around 14,270 feet, the Pangong Lake is 134 kilometres in length and stretches from Eastern Ladakh to Tibet. The clear brackish waters transform between different shades of blue and green, with the shifting position of the sun. The landscape is rough and dramatic.

Day 8: Pangong – Tso Moriri (305 K/M 8 Hrs.)

After an early morning breakfast, we will start and travel through some roads less taken and cross some beautiful small villages like Chushul, Nyoma, Mahe and many more. Tso Moriri is the “Mountain Lake” and home to all most 34 species of birds. The clear waters of the lake reflect the surroundings while the graciously sloped mountains extend it a warm embrace. The beauty of the lake seems to transform itself with the passing of the day, from morning and afternoon to evening.

Day 9: Tso Moriri - Leh (220 K/M 6 Hrs.)

After an early morning breakfast, we will be travelling around 220km to reach Leh. On way to Leh we are going to witness some wonderful & mesmerizing places. We will reach Leh late in the evening. Check- in followed by Dinner & Bonfire.

 Day 10: Bid Adieu
