Itinerary

Day 1: CHANDIGARH - RAMPUR
Distance- 225 Kms
Duration- 8 Hours
Highlights- Shivalik Himalayas, Shimla, Narkanda
After registration and briefing in the morning, we commence The Snow Affair- White Spiti Expedition. The journey starts with a picturesque drive from Chandigarh to Rampur Bushahr, taking you through the beautiful and scenic Himalayan roads. The total distance of the journey is approximately 225 km, and it takes around 7-8 hours to complete, depending on the traffic and road conditions. As you leave behind the city of Chandigarh, you will experience a gradual change in the landscape, where the lush green hills of the Shivalik Range give way to the rugged and snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Upon crossing Shimla, you will reach Kufri, where you will get a short glimpse of driving over snow, although only small patches of snow are expected till Narkanda. The drive continues until you reach Rampur Bushahr, where you will be welcomed by the serene and picturesque surroundings. This town is located on the banks of the Sutlej River and is surrounded by lush green forests and snow-capped peaks, making it a sight to behold.

Day 2: RAMPUR - TABO

Duration- 7 Hours

The drive from Rampur to Tabo is an awe-inspiring journey through the rugged terrain of the Himalayas in India. This route takes you through some of the most remote and picturesque parts of the region, offering stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, and glistening rivers. Once you cross Nako Village, you should expect to encounter snow patches along the way. However, it is crucial to ensure that you are properly layered up because the cold breeze of Spiti can be quite challenging. This route is known for its challenging terrain, with narrow winding roads, steep inclines, and sharp turns, but the journey is well worth it for the incredible natural beauty and the opportunity to witness the white blanket of snow over the dry desert. After the challenging drive, you will reach Tabo, where you can enjoy an overnight stay. The temperatures in this area can dip as low as -10 degrees Celsius, so it's essential to be prepared for the cold.

Day 3: TABO - KAZA
Distance- 86 Kms
Duration- 4 Hrs
Highlights- Tabo Monastery, Chicham Bridge, Kibber, Key Monastery
After visiting The Tabo Monastery today, we will embark on a scenic drive to Kaza. The journey from Tabo to Kaza is a breathtaking experience, taking you through the rugged terrain of the Spiti Valley covered in snow. The road winds through steep cliffs and towering snow-capped peaks, alongside the glistening waters of the Spiti River. The landscape is adorned with picturesque villages and ancient monasteries that offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region. Upon arriving in Kaza, the thrill of snow driving begins as you will be driving on snow throughout the journey, making it both thrilling and exciting. Our first stop will be the magnificent Chicham Bridge, a suspension bridge connecting two mountains over a deep gorge. From there, we will make our way to the charming and picturesque village of Kibber, which boasts a scenic landscape and a unique cultural heritage. Continuing on our adventure, we will journey to the revered Key Monastery, a historic Buddhist monastery nestled amidst towering mountains and surrounded by serene valleys. Finally, we will return to Kaza with temperatures dipping to as low as -15 degrees Celsius.

Day 4: KAZA
Distance- 50 Kms
Duration- 3 Hrs
Highlights- Hikkim, Langza, Komic
We will begin our journey early in the morning to make the most of the day's adventures. Our first stop will be the world-renowned post office located in Hikkim, which sits at an altitude of over 15,000 feet, making it the world's highest post office. Today most of the terrain will be slushy snow and ice patches. So it will a test of your driving skills. After that, we will ride to Komik, the world's highest village accessible via a motorable road. The village is perched atop a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Next, we will make our way to the famous Langza, where we will be treated to spectacular vistas of the Chau Chau Kang Nelda Peak and the Buddha Statue overlooking the valley. As the day winds down, we will have dinner and spend the night in Kaza.

Day 5: KAZA - KALPA
Distance- 215 Kms
Duration- 7 Hrs
Highlights- Deep Valleys, Pristine landscapes, Several charming villages
The drive from Kaza to Kalpa is a picturesque journey through the stunning landscapes of the Spiti Valley in India. The route is around 215 km long and takes approximately 7 hours to complete. The road from Kaza to Kalpa is known for its challenging terrain, with steep inclines, narrow winding roads, and sharp turns. However, the journey is well worth it for the incredible natural beauty that surrounds you. The snow-covered mountains, clear blue skies, and pristine landscapes are sure to take your breath away. Finally, you will arrive in the quaint and picturesque town of Kalpa, situated in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The town is famous for its apple orchards, lush green forests, and stunning views of the Kinner Kailash mountain range. Overall, the drive from Kaza to Kalpa is an unforgettable experience, offering a chance to witness the majestic beauty of the Spiti Valley and its surrounding areas.

Day 6: KALPA - NARKANDA
Distance- 156 Kms
Duration- 6 Hrs
Highlights- Scenic Road Drive, Evening Bonfire
The final stop on our journey will be Narkanda, with the tranquil river Sutlej accompanying us all the way. Compared to the Spiti Valley, the temperature will be warmer in comparison to Spiti Valley and the drive will be relaxed. As you approach Narkanda, the lush green forests will gradually transform into snow-covered pine trees. Narkanda is a charming town located in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, renowned as a skiing destination during winters. The town is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. We will spend the night at a hotel in Narkanda, providing a perfect opportunity to reflect on the memories and experiences gained during the journey.

Day 7: DEPARTURE DAY
In the morning, wake up and have breakfast. Following that, check out of the hotel. You can either freely explore the city Shimla on your own or drive back to your Home.
